i'm requesting help. i'm writing and i'm sortofmaybe looking for your idea of an original creature as per their respective titles.

so, tell me a paragraph about each of the following. i'm looking for special traits,  physical appearance and anything else about them that defines their race in any way.

vampire [twilight styles are not appreciated]

werewolf/loup-garou [again with the twilight thing.]

ghosts/poltergeists/spirits of the sort.

and anything else you can think of.

thanks.  :la:

Well you asked for it, here's a "short" take on each of the three classics listed:

Vampires, nocturnal creatures burnt by direct sunlight which can instantly recover from any wound not inflicted by the sun, fire, magic or divine means. They never age and possess an enhanced sense of sight and smell, roughly ten times that of a normal human, but their sense of touch is dulled and their dead flesh takes on the temperature of their surroundings. Vampires must feed on the blood of a living creature or they will slowly waste away as though starving, however as soon as they feed they will be restored to the state they were in when they became undead. When the vampire feeds they take on aspects of the creature they feed on, allowing a skilled vampire to gain memories or experiences of the victim, but typically the vampire will just restore some aspect of their human selves, such as the ability to eat solid food for the night or enhance their aura of inhuman beauty, literally becoming more human than human as they absorb pieces of their victim's life and soul. Vampires which feed on creatures not of their own species will slowly become more and more bestial, absorbing aspects of the creatures they feed on and potentially deforming to the point they are the same shape and size as one of those creatures. In this way it is possible for a human vampire to become a vampire rat or a vampire rat to become a human vampire, although each will retain vestiges of their original shape.

Werewolves are a race of wolves which have the ability to take on the appearance of humans and blend with our society. They have strong family bonds and never stray far from their packs, but they have adapted to live primarily in or near human society instead of as the animals they are more closely related to. Werewolves in human form possess all of the natural capabilities, intelligence and appearances of a regular human, except that they possess an enhanced sense of taste and can only digest meat. In wolf form they appear as a normal wolf and possess all the normal capabilities of a wolf, except they retain their human intellect, skills and experience. In either form werewolves have an inhuman scent which makes other non-canine animals fearful of them and makes canines and wolves in particular at ease. Werewolves can instantly heal any wound not inflicted by fire or silver. Werewolves can transform between their human and wolf states at will, but on the night of the full and new moons they gain the access to a third form that is somewhere between a human and a wolf, with the body of a human covered in fur, the head and feet of a giant wolf, and humanoid hands with sharp claws fur and wolf pads on the palm and fingers. In this form they possess three times the senses, strength, agility and speed of either form, but also an almost overpowering lust for blood as long as the full moon shines on them, or a powerful calm as long as the stars are overhead on the new moon. They do not have to take this form when it is available to them, but they will if threatened. They are predators and carnivores at heart and enjoy the thrill of the hunt, as a rule they see humans as a lesser species of animal than themselves and even other primates, seeing human dependency on tools as a weakness even though they themselves make use of the same tools (the difference is they do so to fit in.) Silver is not harmful in and of itself to werewolves, but rather burns when in contacts their blood and the flesh beneath their skin. This effect can damage non-werewolves who have werewolf blood on them as well.

Ghosts the soul of a human left behind after the human has died because of an intense will to live or achieve something they failed to achieve in life. Ghost do not need to eat, drink, or sleep and possess no body of their own other than the spiritual shell their soul projects in the shape of their body. This shell is normally visible only to the ghost and other supernatural creatures, but ghosts can build, absorb, and use mental energy to telepathically project their form, allowing them to become visible and even use telekinesis to mimic touching objects or move things with their mind. The more energy they absorb and time goes by they can manifest stronger and stronger psychic power becomes. Ghosts all start out similar to who they were at the moment of their death, however with no body to regulate thoughts and emotions they tend to quickly become obsessed with either whatever is holding them to the earthly realm, finding a way to live again, or punishing the living who dare to trespass into their space. Ghosts are not restricted in their movement per-se, but most habitually remain fixed to their form and motion they had in life and the place of their death. The only thing that holds them there is their own mind however, if for any reason they realize they can move or travel in ways they could not in life they may begin to wander or fly at will. Many ghosts run into walls trying to pass through them, not because they can't, but because habit makes them smack the wall instead of moving past it. Ghost cannot be harmed by anything other than energy, which will just knock them around and deplete their supplies of gathered mental power. However a ghost can THINK it can be harmed by other things, making those methods just as effective as if they really did harm the ghost. Any ghost which loses all mental energy will fall into a slumber, during which it will be invisible to any means of detection and appear destroyed. However as soon as the ghost's mental energy is returned it will wake up as though nothing happened.

If you really want more/a different take I'd be happy to type out a few more chunks at you. =D
